This game needs a keyboard — it may not work well on a touch-only device.

Controls

WASD or arrows to hop in four directions. Space for Zen slow-motion. P/Esc to pause. C for camera. Enter to start or continue.

Frogger — Rehopped: roads, rivers and timing

Rehopped is my Frogger remake, built solo with AI assistance from ChatGPT. The 3D board has a clear route: cross four traffic lanes, reach the grass, then use the river's moving platforms to reach an empty home. The small green frog stays central to the game, surrounded by cars, logs, turtles and trees rather than a new set of unrelated mechanics.

Three homes in each chapter

Adventure contains five chapters. Each one asks you to fill three separate lily-pad homes before moving on. You begin with three lives and a countdown whose starting value depends on difficulty. Reaching a home awards points and a time bonus to the score. Completing all three adds another bonus, then the next chapter restores one life up to the three-life limit.

Later chapters move the world faster. From chapter two, turtle platforms also dive, so a route that looks available can disappear. Endless mode keeps the chapter sequence going beyond the Adventure finish. Golden flies offer optional detours: collecting one adds 50 points and restores some Zen energy.

Zen buys room to react

Use arrow keys or WASD to hop. On touchscreens, swipe on the board or use the direction buttons. Space and the Zen control slow traffic and moving platforms while energy drains. The countdown keeps running, so Zen helps you read a crossing without removing the time limit. P or Esc pauses, and C switches the camera.

A key implementation problem is carrying the frog with a moving log without letting a hop skip through a car. The game applies the supporting platform's movement to the frog between hops. During a hop, it also checks road contact against the frog's interpolated position. One pending direction can be buffered while the current hop finishes. These rules connect the tile-based input to continuously moving hazards.

A tabletop view of the crossing

Three.js 0.180.0 draws the board with an orthographic camera and soft shadows. GLTFLoader loads Kenney Nature Kit and Car Kit scenery, while the frog is assembled from geometry. The best score and sound setting stay in localStorage; the current chapter does not. Rehopped joins the free Solo Game Devs collection as a browser game with a standalone HTML download planned.
